حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ إِسْمَعِيلَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبَّادِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ الْمَخْزُومِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَجَاءَ مُشْرِكُو قُرَيْشٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُخَاصِمُونَ فِي الْقَدَرِ فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ{ يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي النَّارِ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا مَسَّ سَقَرَ إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَاهُ بِقَدَرٍ }قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

Narrated to us [Abu Kuraib Muhammad bin Al 'Ala] and [Muhammad bin Basysyar] they both said : has told us [Waki'] from [Sufyan Ats Tsauri] from [Ziyad bin Isma'il] from [Muhammad bin 'Abbad bin Ja'far Al Makhzumi] from [Abu Hurairah] he said : The polytheists of Quraish came to Rasulullah peace be upon him to debate the issue of destiny, then this verse was revealed: "Their faces fell in hell. (It was said to them) Feel the painful torment, verily we created everything by destiny." Abu Isa said : This is an authentic Hasan hadith.
