Narrated to us [Ibnu Abu Umar], narrated to us [Sufyan] from [Az Zuhri] from [Abu Khuzamah] from [his father], he said: I asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, 'O Messenger of Allah, what do you think about the ruqyah we use, the medicine we use for treatment, and the protection we use to shield ourselves—can they repel Allah’s decree?' The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, replied: 'Indeed, they are part of Allah’s decree.' Abu Isa said: This is a hasan sahih hadith. Narrated to us [Sa'id bin Abdurrahman], narrated to us [Sufyan] from [Zuhri] from [Ibnu Abi Khuzamah] from [his father] from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, like the above hadith. Both narrations were narrated from Ibnu Uyainah. Some said: from Abu Khuzaimah from his father, and others said: from Ibnu Abi Khuzaimah from his father. Others besides Ibnu Uyainah also narrated this hadith from Zuhri from Abu Khuzaimah from his father, but this hadith is more sahih, and we do not know Ibnu Khuzaimah narrating other than this hadith.
