حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَال سَمِعْتُ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ رَاشِدٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ خَبَّابِ بْنِ الْأَرَتِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاةً فَأَطَالَهَا قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّيْتَ صَلَاةً لَمْ تَكُنْ تُصَلِّيهَا قَالَ أَجَلْ إِنَّهَا صَلَاةُ رَغْبَةٍ وَرَهْبَةٍ إِنِّي سَأَلْتُ اللَّهَ فِيهَا ثَلَاثًا فَأَعْطَانِي اثْنَتَيْنِ وَمَنَعَنِي وَاحِدَةً سَأَلْتُهُ أَنْ لَا يُهْلِكَ أُمَّتِي بِسَنَةٍ فَأَعْطَانِيهَا وَسَأَلْتُهُ أَنْ لَا يُسَلِّطَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَدُوًّا مِنْ غَيْرِهِمْ فَأَعْطَانِيهَا وَسَأَلْتُهُ أَنْ لَا يُذِيقَ بَعْضَهُمْ بَأْسَ بَعْضٍ فَمَنَعَنِيهَاقَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ سَعْدٍ وَابْنِ عُمَرَ

Narrated to us [Muhammad bin Basyar] has told us [Wahb bin Jarir] has told us [my father] said: I heard [Nu'man bin Rasyid] told from [Az Zuhri] from [Abdullah bin Al Harith] from [Abdullah bin Khabbab bin Al Arts] from [his father] said: Rasulullahpeace be upon him performed the prayer and he prolonged it, the companions asked: O Rasulullah, are you not praying as usual? he answered: "Yes, it is a prayer between love and fear, in that prayer I asked Allah for three things, then Allah granted two things and did not grant me one thing; I asked Him not to destroy my ummah with hunger and Allah granted it, I asked that my ummah not be dominated by enemies other than them and Allah granted it, then I asked that there be no internal war between them but Allah did not grant it." Abu Isa said: this hadith is hasan shahih gharib, and in this chapter there are hadiths from Sa'ad and Ibn Umar.
