حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ أَخْبَرَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهَا أَلَمْ تَرَيْ أَنَّ قَوْمَكِ لَمَّا بَنَوْا الْكَعْبَةَ اقْتَصَرُوا عَنْ قَوَاعِدِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَلَا تَرُدُّهَا عَلَى قَوَاعِدِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ لَوْلَا حِدْثَانُ قَوْمِكِ بِالْكُفْرِ لَفَعَلْتُفَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ لَئِنْ كَانَتْ عَائِشَةُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا سَمِعَتْ هَذَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا أُرَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَرَكَ اسْتِلَامَ الرُّكْنَيْنِ اللَّذَيْنِ يَلِيَانِ الْحِجْرَ إِلَّا أَنَّ الْبَيْتَ لَمْ يُتَمَّمْ عَلَى قَوَاعِدِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ

Narrated to us 'Abdullah bin Maslamah from Malik from Ibn Syihab from Salim bin 'Abdullah that 'Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Abu Bakr informed 'Abdullah bin 'Umar from 'Aisyah, may Allah be pleased with them, the Prophet's wife, peace and blessings be upon him, Sa'dto her: Did you not know that your people, when building the Ka'bah, shortened it from the foundation of Ibrahim, peace be upon him? I said: O Messenger of Allah, why not restore it to Ibrahim's foundation? He said: Were it not for your people's recent state of disbelief, I would have done so. 'Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him, said: If 'Aisyah, may Allah be pleased with her, heard this from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, I do not see the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, abandoning the touching of the two corners facing the Hijr except because the Ka'bah was not completed on Ibrahim's foundation.
