Ali bin Abdullah narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from 'Amr bin Dinar, that 'Amr bin Aus informed him that Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'As (may Allah be pleased with them) informed him that the Messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him Sa'dto him: 'The prayer most beloved to Allah is the prayer of Dawud (peace be upon him), and the fasting most beloved to Allah is the fasting of Dawud. He would sleep for half the night, pray for a third of it, and sleep for a sixth of it. He would fast one day and break his fast the next.'
