Narrated to us [Abu Bakr bin Muhammad bin Aban], narrated to us [Waki'], narrated to us [Hisyam Ad Dastuwa`i] from [Budail bin Maisarah Al Uqaili] from [Abdullah bin Ubaid bin Umair] from [Ummu Kultsum] from [Aisyah], she said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'When one of you eats food, let him say, BISMILLAH (In the name of Allah)." If he forgets to say it at the beginning, let him say: "BISMILLAHI FI AWWALIHI WA AKHIRIHI (In the name of Allah at its beginning and end)." With this chain, it was also narrated from Aisyah, she said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was eating food with six of his companions. A Bedouin came and ate two mouthfuls, so the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'If he had mentioned Allah’s name, the food would have sufficed for you all.' Abu Isa said: This is a hasan sahih hadith. Ummu Kultsum is the daughter of Muhammad bin Abu Bakar Ash Shiddiq, may Allah be pleased with him."
