Narrated to us [Hafsh bin Umar], he said: narrated to us [Syu'bah]. (In another chain) Narrated to us [Musaddad], he said: narrated to us [Yahya] from [Syu'bah] by meaning, from [Al Hakam] from [Ibnu Abu Laila], he said: [Musaddad] said: narrated to us [Ali], he said: 'Fatimah complained to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, about her blistered hands. When captives were brought to him, Fatimah came to him requesting a servant, but she did not find him. She conveyed her request to 'Aisyah. When the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, came, 'Aisyah informed him. He and 'Aisyah came to us while we were asleep. We got up, but he said: Stay where you are." He came and sat between us, and I could feel the coolness of his feet on my chest. He then said: "Shall I teach you something better than what you asked for? When you go to sleep, recite tasbih (SubhanAllah) thirty-three times, tahmid (Alhamdulillah) thirty-three times, and takbir (Allahu Akbar) thirty-four times. That is better for you than a servant."' Narrated to us [Muammal bin Hisyam Al Yasykuri], he said: narrated to us [Isma'il bin Ibrahim] from [Al Jurairi] from [Abu Al Ward bin Tsumamah], he said: [Ali] said to Ibnu A'bud: 'Shall I narrate to you a hadith from me and Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him? She was his beloved daughter and my wife. She used to grind with a mill until it marked her hands, fetch water with a jug until it marked her neck, sweep the house until her clothes became dusty, and cook with a pot until her clothes turned black, causing her exhaustion. We heard that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, had received captives. I said to Fatimah: "If you go to your father and ask for a servant, it will suffice you." She went to him but found many new Muslims with him, so she felt shy and returned. The next day, he came to us while we were under a blanket. He sat by Fatimah’s side, but she hid her head under the blanket out of shyness. He said: "What did you need when you came to the family of Muhammad yesterday?" Fatimah remained silent. He repeated it twice. I said: "O Messenger of Allah, I will tell you. Fatimah, by my side, grinds with a mill until it marks her hands, fetches water with a jug until it marks her neck, sweeps the house until her clothes are dusty, and cooks with a pot until her clothes turn black. We heard you received captives or servants, so I told her to ask you for a servant." He then mentioned the meaning of Al Hakam’s hadith and completed it.' Narrated to us [Abbas Al Anbari], he said: narrated to us [Abdul Malik bin Amru], he said: narrated to us [Abdul Aziz bin Muhammad] from [Yazid bin Al Had] from [Muhammad bin Ka'b Al Qurazhi] from [Syabats bin Rib'i] from [Ali, peace be upon him] from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, like the hadith. In it, he (the narrator) mentioned: 'Ali said: "I never abandoned it since I heard it from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, except on the night of the Battle of Siffin, when I remembered it at the end of the night and recited it."'"'
