Narrated to us [Hafsh bin Umar], he said: narrated to us [Syu'bah] from [Atha bin As Saib] from [his father] from [Abdullah bin Amr], from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, he said: 'There are two deeds that, if a Muslim adheres to them, he will enter Paradise. They are easy to do, but few do them. They are: after every prayer, recite tasbih ten times, tahmid ten times, and takbir ten times. That amounts to one hundred fifty with the tongue and one thousand five hundred in the scale. And recite takbir thirty-four times, tahmid thirty-three times, and tasbih thirty-three times when going to sleep that is one hundred with the tongue and one thousand in the scale.' I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, counting them with his hand. The companions asked: 'O Messenger of Allah, these are easy to do, so why do few perform them?' He replied: 'Satan comes to one of you when sleeping and makes you fall asleep before reciting them, and he comes during prayer and reminds you of your needs before you recite them.' Narrated to us [Ahmad bin Shalih], he said: narrated to us [Abdullah bin Wahb], he said: narrated to me [Ayyasy bin Uqbah Al Hadhrami] from [Al Fadhl bin Hasan Adh Dhamri], that [Ibnu Ummul Hakam] or [Dhaba'ah]—both daughters of Az Zubair—narrated to him from one of them, she said: 'The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, received captives, so I and my sister Fatimah, the daughter of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, went to him. We complained about our issues and asked him to order a servant for us. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The orphans of Badr have preceded you." Then he mentioned the hadith about tasbih. He said: "After completing the prayer…" but did not mention when going to sleep.'"
