Narrated to us [Al Husain bin Huraits], narrated to us [Al Fadhl bin Musa] from [Abdullah bin Sa'id namely Ibnu Abu Hindun] from [Ziyad former slave of Ibnu 'Ayyasy] from [Abu Bahriyyah] from [Abu Ad Darda` radliallahu 'anhu] he said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Shall I inform you about your best deeds, and the purest in the sight of your King (Allah), the highest in degree, and better for you than spending gold and silver, and better for you than meeting your enemy then you cut their necks and they cut your necks?" They said: yes. He said: "Remembering Allah ta'ala." Mu'adz bin Jabal radliallahu 'anhu said: there is nothing that saves more from the punishment of Allah than remembering Allah. Some scholars narrated this hadith from Abdullah bin Sa'id like this with this chain and some others narrated from Mu'adz and made that hadith mursal."
