حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ قَالَأَخَذَ زِيَادُ بْنُ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ بِيَدِي وَنَحْنُ بِالرَّقَّةِ فَقَامَ بِي عَلَى شَيْخٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ وَابِصَةُ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ مِنْ بَنِي أَسَدٍ فَقَالَ زِيَادٌ حَدَّثَنِي هَذَا الشَّيْخُ أَنَّ رَجُلًا صَلَّى خَلْفَ الصَّفِّ وَحْدَهُ وَالشَّيْخُ يَسْمَعُ فَأَمَرَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُعِيدَ الصَّلَاةَقَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ شَيْبَانَ وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَحَدِيثُ وَابِصَةَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ وَقَدْ كَرِهَ قَوْمٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ الرَّجُلُ خَلْفَ الصَّفِّ وَحْدَهُ وَقَالُوا يُعِيدُ إِذَا صَلَّى خَلْفَ الصَّفِّ وَحْدَهُ وَبِهِ يَقُولُ أَحْمَدُ وَإِسْحَقُ وَقَدْ قَالَ قَوْمٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ يُجْزِئُهُ إِذَا صَلَّى خَلْفَ الصَّفِّ وَحْدَهُ وَهُوَ قَوْلُ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ وَابْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ وَالشَّافِعِيِّ وَقَدْ ذَهَبَ قَوْمٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكُوفَةِ إِلَى حَدِيثِ وَابِصَةَ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ أَيْضًا قَالُوا مَنْ صَلَّى خَلْفَ الصَّفِّ وَحْدَهُ يُعِيدُ مِنْهُمْ حَمَّادُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ وَابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى وَوَكِيعٌ وَرَوَى حَدِيثَ حُصَيْنٍ عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ مِثْلَ رِوَايَةِ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ وَابِصَةَ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ وَفِي حَدِيثِ حُصَيْنٍ مَا يَدُلُّ عَلَى أَنَّ هِلَالًا قَدْ أَدْرَكَ وَابِصَةَ وَاخْتَلَفَ أَهْلُ الْحَدِيثِ فِي هَذَا فَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ حَدِيثُ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ رَاشِدٍ عَنْ وَابِصَةَ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ أَصَحُّ وَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ حَدِيثُ حُصَيْنٍ عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ وَابِصَةَ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ أَصَحُّ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَهَذَا عِنْدِي أَصَحُّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَمْرِو ابْنِ مُرَّةَ لِأَنَّهُ قَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَدِيثِ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ وَابِصَةَ

Narrated to us [Hannad], he said: narrated to us [Abu Al Ahwash] from [Hushain] from [Hilal bin Yasaf], he said: Ziyad bin Abu Al Ja'd held my hand when we were in muddy ground (after flooding). Then he took me to a sheikh called [Wabishah bin Ma'bad] from Bani Asad. Ziyad said: "This sheikh narrated to me, once a man prayed alone behind the row, the sheikh heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, order the man to repeat his prayer." Abu Isa said: "In this chapter there are also narrations from Ali bin Syaiban and Ibnu Abbas." Abu Isa said: "The hadith of Wabishah is hasan. Some scholars dislike praying alone behind the imam, they say: 'He must repeat his prayer if done alone behind the imam.' This is the opinion of Ahmad and Ishaq. And some other scholars: 'If he prays alone behind the imam, it suffices.' This is the opinion of Sufyan Ats Tsauri, bin Al Mubarak and Syafi'i. Some Kufah scholars also hold to the hadith of Wabishah bin Ma'bad, they say: 'Whoever prays alone behind the row must repeat his prayer.' Among those who hold this are Hammad bin Sulaiman, Ibnu Abu Laila and Waki'. The hadith of Hushain from Hilal bin Yasaf is narrated from several people, like the narration of Abu Al Ahwash, from Ziyad bin Abu Al Ja'd, from Wabishah bin Ma'bad. In Hushain's hadith there is indication that Hilal met Wabishah. In this there is disagreement among hadith scholars, some say: 'The hadith narrated from 'Amru bin Murrah, from Hilal bin Yasaf, from 'Amru bin Risydin, from Wabishah bin Ma'bad is more sahih.' While others say: 'Hushain's hadith narrated from Hilal bin Yasaf, from Ziyad bin Abu Al Ja'd, from Wabishah bin Ma'bad is more sahih.'" Abu Isa said: "In my opinion this hadith is more sahih than the hadith of Amru bin Murrah. Because that hadith is also narrated from other than Hilal bin Yasaf, from Ziyad bin Abu Al Ja'd, from Wabishah."
