حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ الْمُسَيَّبِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ طَرَفَةَ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ السُّوَائِيِّ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَلَا تَصُفُّونَ كَمَا تَصُفُّ الْمَلَائِكَةُ عِنْدَ رَبِّهَا قَالَ قُلْنَا وَكَيْفَ تَصُفُّ الْمَلَائِكَةُ عِنْدَ رَبِّهَا قَالَ يُتِمُّونَ الصُّفُوفَ الْأُوَلَ وَيَتَرَاصُّونَ فِي الصَّفِّ

Ali bin Muhammad narrated to us, Waki' narrated to us, Al-A'masy narrated to us, from Al-Musayyab bin Rafi', from Tamim bin Tharafah, from Jabir bin Samurah As-Suwa'i, who said, 'Rasulullah (peace be upon him) said: Will you not line up as the angels do before their Lord? We asked, How do the angels line up before their Lord?" He replied: They complete the first rows and stand closely together.'"
