أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ عَنْ ابْنِ الْقَاسِمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُسَأَلَ عَائِشَةَ أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ كَيْفَ كَانَتْ صَلَاةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي رَمَضَانَ قَالَتْ مَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَزِيدُ فِي رَمَضَانَ وَلَا غَيْرِهِ عَلَى إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً يُصَلِّي أَرْبَعًا فَلَا تَسْأَلْ عَنْ حُسْنِهِنَّ وَطُولِهِنَّ ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي أَرْبَعًا فَلَا تَسْأَلْ عَنْ حُسْنِهِنَّ وَطُولِهِنَّ ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي ثَلَاثًا قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَتَنَامُ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُوتِرَ قَالَ يَا عَائِشَةُ إِنَّ عَيْنِي تَنَامُ وَلَا يَنَامُ قَلْبِي

Narrated to us [Muhammad bin Salamah] and [Al Harith bin Miskin] in reading and I heard, this lafazh from him from [Ibnul Qasim] he said : has told me [Malik] from [Sa'id bin Abu Sa'id Al Maqburi] from [Abu Salamah bin 'Abdurrahman] he told him that he once asked [Aisyah] about how Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam prayed in the month of Ramadan? Then Aisyah answered; "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) never prayed more than eleven rak'ahs, not in the month of Ramadlan or any other month. He peace be upon him prayed four rak'ahs, you should not ask about its goodness and duration. Then he prayed four more rak'ahs, and you should not ask about its goodness and duration, then he prayed three rak'ahs of witr." Aisha said : "O Rasulullah peace be upon him, do you sleep before the witr prayer?" He said: 'O Aisyah, my eyes sleep but my heart does not sleep.'
