حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ بِالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الْبُرُوجِ وَالسَّمَاءِ وَالطَّارِقِ وَشِبْهِهِمَاقَالَ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ خَبَّابٍ وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ وَأَبِي قَتَادَةَ وَزَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ وَالْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَرَأَ فِي الظُّهْرِ قَدْرَ تَنْزِيلِ السَّجْدَةِ وَرُوِيَ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى مِنْ الظُّهْرِ قَدْرَ ثَلَاثِينَ آيَةً وَفِي الرَّكْعَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ آيَةً وَرُوِي عَنْ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ كَتَبَ إِلَى أَبِي مُوسَى أَنْ اقْرَأْ فِي الظُّهْرِ بِأَوْسَاطِ الْمُفَصَّلِ وَرَأَى بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ أَنَّ الْقِرَاءَةَ فِي صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ كَنَحْوِ الْقِرَاءَةِ فِي صَلَاةِ الْمَغْرِبِ يَقْرَأُ بِقِصَارِ الْمُفَصَّلِ وَرُوِي عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ النَّخَعِيِّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ تَعْدِلُ صَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ بِصَلَاةِ الْمَغْرِبِ فِي الْقِرَاءَةِ و قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ تُضَاعَفُ صَلَاةُ الظُّهْرِ عَلَى صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ فِي الْقِرَاءَةِ أَرْبَعَ مِرَارٍ

Narrated to us [Ahmad bin Mani'], he said: narrated to us [Yazid bin Harun], he said: informed us [Hammad bin Salamah] from [Simak bin Harb] from [Jabir bin Samrah], he said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, in Zuhr and Asr prayers recited WAS SAMAI DZATUL BURUJ and WAS SAMAI WATH THARIQ and similar to them." He said: "In this chapter there is also a narration from Khabbab, Abu Sa'id, Abu Qatadah, Zaid bin Tsabit, and Al Bara` bin 'Azib." Abu Isa said: "The hadith of Jabir bin Samrah is hasan sahih. It is narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that in Zuhr prayer he recited a surah equivalent to Surah Tanzil (As Sajadah). And it is also narrated from him that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in the first rakaat of Zuhr recited about thirty verses. While in the second rakaat about fifteen verses. And it is narrated from Umar that he wrote to Abu Musa to recite medium surahs in Zuhr prayer. While some scholars hold that recitation in Asr prayer is like in Maghrib prayer, that is, reciting short surahs. It is narrated from Ibrahim An Nakha'I that he said: "Recitation in Asr and Maghrib is equivalent." Ibrahim said again: "Recitation in Zuhr is four times longer than in Asr."
