حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ شَرِبَ الْخَمْرَ لَمْ يَقْبَلْ اللَّهُ لَهُ صَلَاةً أَرْبَعِينَ صَبَاحًا فَإِنْ تَابَ تَابَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ فَإِنْ عَادَ لَمْ يَقْبَلْ اللَّهُ لَهُ صَلَاةً أَرْبَعِينَ صَبَاحًا فَإِنْ تَابَ تَابَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ فَإِنْ عَادَ لَمْ يَقْبَلْ اللَّهُ لَهُ صَلَاةً أَرْبَعِينَ صَبَاحًا فَإِنْ تَابَ تَابَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ فَإِنْ عَادَ الرَّابِعَةَ لَمْ يَقْبَلْ اللَّهُ لَهُ صَلَاةً أَرْبَعِينَ صَبَاحًا فَإِنْ تَابَ لَمْ يَتُبْ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَقَاهُ مِنْ نَهْرِ الْخَبَالِ قِيلَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَمَا نَهْرُ الْخَبَالِ قَالَ نَهْرٌ مِنْ صَدِيدِ أَهْلِ النَّارِقَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ نَحْوُ هَذَا عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

Narrated to us [Qutaibah], narrated to us [Jarir bin Abdul Hamid] from [Atha bin As Saib] from [Abdullah bin Umair] from [his father], he said: [Abdullah bin Umar] said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'Whoever drinks khamr, Allah will not accept his prayer for forty days. If he repents, Allah will accept his repentance. But if he returns to it, Allah will not accept his prayer for forty days. If he repents, Allah will accept his repentance. But if he returns to it again, Allah will not accept his prayer for forty days. If he repents, Allah will accept his repentance. If he returns to it a fourth time, Allah will not accept his prayer for forty days, and if he repents, Allah will not accept his repentance, and he will be made to drink from the river of Khabal.' Then it was asked, 'O Abu Abdurrahman, what is the river of Khabal?' He replied, 'It is a river of pus from the inhabitants of Hell.' Abu Isa said: This is a hasan hadith. A similar hadith was narrated from Abdullah bin Amr and Ibnu Abbas from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
