حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍأَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَرِبَ لَبَنًا فَدَعَا بِمَاءٍ فَمَضْمَضَ وَقَالَ إِنَّ لَهُ دَسَمًاقَالَ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ وَأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَقَدْ رَأَى بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ الْمَضْمَضَةَ مِنْ اللَّبَنِ وَهَذَا عِنْدَنَا عَلَى الِاسْتِحْبَابِ وَلَمْ يَرَ بَعْضُهُمْ الْمَضْمَضَةَ مِنْ اللَّبَنِ

Narrated to us [Qutaibah], he said: narrated to us [Al-Layth] from [‘Uqayl] from [Az-Zuhri] from [‘Ubaydillah bin ‘Abdullah] from [Ibn ‘Abbas]: "The Prophet, may Allah’s peace be upon him, drank milk, called for water, rinsed his mouth, and said: ‘It contains fat.’" In this chapter there are narrations from Sahl bin Sa‘d As-Sa‘idi and Umm Salamah. Abu Isa said: "This hadith is hasan sahih. Some scholars require rinsing after milk: we regard it sunnah. Some do not even recommend it."
