حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ أَبِي السَّفَرِ وَهُوَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ الْكُوفِيُّ وَإِسْحَقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ حَدَّثَنَا وَقَالَ إِسْحَقُ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ حُسَيْنٍ الْمُعَلِّمِ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ عَنْ يَعِيشَ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ الْمَخْزُومِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَاءَ فَأَفْطَرَ فَتَوَضَّأَفَلَقِيتُ ثَوْبَانَ فِي مَسْجِدِ دِمَشْقَ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ صَدَقَ أَنَا صَبَبْتُ لَهُ وَضُوءَهُ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى و قَالَ إِسْحَقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ مَعْدَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَابْنُ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ أَصَحُّ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَقَدْ رَأَى غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَغَيْرِهِمْ مِنْ التَّابِعِينَ الْوُضُوءَ مِنْ الْقَيْءِ وَالرُّعَافِ وَهُوَ قَوْلُ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ وَابْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ وَأَحْمَدَ وَإِسْحَقَ و قَالَ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ لَيْسَ فِي الْقَيْءِ وَالرُّعَافِ وُضُوءٌ وَهُوَ قَوْلُ مَالِكٍ وَالشَّافِعِيِّ وَقَدْ جَوَّدَ حُسَيْنٌ الْمُعَلِّمُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ وَحَدِيثُ حُسَيْنٍ أَصَحُّ شَيْءٍ فِي هَذَا الْبَابِ وَرَوَى مَعْمَرٌ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ فَأَخْطَأَ فِيهِ فَقَالَ عَنْ يَعِيشَ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ فِيهِ الْأَوْزَاعِيَّ وَقَالَ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ وَإِنَّمَا هُوَ مَعْدَانُ بْنُ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ

Narrated to us [Abu ‘Ubaydah bin Abi As-Safar (Ahmad bin ‘Abdullah Al-Hamdani Al-Kufi)]. [Ishaq bin Manshur] said: narrated to us [Abu ‘Ubaydah]. Ishaq said: informed us [‘Abdu As-Samad bin ‘Abdul Warith], he said: narrated to me my father from [Husayn Al-Mu‘allim] from [Yahya bin Abi Kathir], he said: narrated to me [‘Abdurrahman bin ‘Amr Al-Awza‘i] from [Ya‘ish Ibn Al-Walid Al-Makhzumi] from his father from [Ma‘dan bin Abi Talhah] from [Abu Darda’]: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah’s peace be upon him, vomited, broke his fast, and performed wudu. Abu Darda’ said: "I met Thawban in the Damascus mosque and told him: he said: ‘True—I poured the wudu water for him.’" Ishaq bin Manshur said: "Ma‘dan bin Talhah." Abu Isa said: "Ibn Abi Talhah is more correct." Abu Isa said: "More than one Companion and Tabi‘i held wudu is required after vomiting or nosebleed—this is the view of Sufyan Ath-Thawri, Ibn Al-Mubarak, Ahmad, and Ishaq. Others held no wudu is required—this is Malik’s and Ash-Shafi‘i’s view. Husayn Al-Mu‘allim regarded this hadith good: it is the best in the chapter. Ma‘mar narrated from Yahya bin Abi Kathir but erred: ‘From Ya‘ish Ibn Al-Walid from Khalid bin Ma‘dan from Abu Darda’,’ omitting Al-Awza‘i and naming Khalid instead of Ma‘dan bin Abi Talhah."
