حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ يُقَالُ هُوَ مِنْ وَلَدِ بُسْرِ بْنِ أَرْطَاةَ صَاحِبِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ وَأَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَعَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ أَحَدُكُمْ مِنْ اللَّيْلِ فَلَا يُدْخِلْ يَدَهُ فِي الْإِنَاءِ حَتَّى يُفْرِغَ عَلَيْهَا مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَدْرِي أَيْنَ بَاتَتْ يَدُهُوَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ وَجَابِرٍ وَعَائِشَةَ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ وَأُحِبُّ لِكُلِّ مَنْ اسْتَيْقَظَ مِنْ النَّوْمِ قَائِلَةً كَانَتْ أَوْ غَيْرَهَا أَنْ لَا يُدْخِلَ يَدَهُ فِي وَضُوئِهِ حَتَّى يَغْسِلَهَا فَإِنْ أَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَغْسِلَهَا كَرِهْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ وَلَمْ يُفْسِدْ ذَلِكَ الْمَاءَ إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ عَلَى يَدِهِ نَجَاسَةٌ و قَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ إِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ مِنْ النَّوْمِ مِنْ اللَّيْلِ فَأَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ فِي وَضُوئِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَغْسِلَهَا فَأَعْجَبُ إِلَيَّ أَنْ يُهْرِيقَ الْمَاءَ و قَالَ إِسْحَقُ إِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ مِنْ النَّوْمِ بِاللَّيْلِ أَوْ بِالنَّهَارِ فَلَا يُدْخِلْ يَدَهُ فِي وَضُوئِهِ حَتَّى يَغْسِلَهَا

Narrated to us [Abul-Walid Ahmad bin Bakkar Ad-Dimashqi]—some say he is a descendant of Busr bin Arta’ah, a Companion of the Prophet, may Allah’s peace be upon him—he said: narrated to us [Al-Walid bin Muslim] from [Al-Awza‘i] from [Az-Zuhri] from [Sa‘id Ibn Al-Musayyab] and [Abu Salamah] from [Abu Hurairah] from the Prophet, may Allah’s peace be upon him: "When one of you awakens from sleep, let him not dip his hand into a vessel until he pours water over it two or three times, for he does not know where his hand spent the night." In this chapter there are also narrations from Ibn ‘Umar, Jabir and ‘A’ishah. Abu Isa said: "This hadith is hasan sahih. Ash-Shafi‘i said: ‘I love that everyone who awakens from sleep—whether daytime or otherwise—refrain from dipping his hand into his wudu water until he washes it first: I dislike him dipping it before washing. Yet it does not render the water impure so long as no filth is on his hand.’ Ahmad bin Hanbal said: ‘If someone awakens at night and dips his hand into wudu water before washing it, I would be astonished if he discarded that water.’ Ishaq said: ‘If someone awakens at night or day, let him not dip his hand into wudu water until he washes it.’"
