حَدَّثَنِي فَرْوَةُ بْنُ أَبِي الْمَغْرَاءِ أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْأَسْلَمَتْ امْرَأَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ لِبَعْضِ الْعَرَبِ وَكَانَ لَهَا حِفْشٌ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ قَالَتْ فَكَانَتْ تَأْتِينَا فَتَحَدَّثُ عِنْدَنَا فَإِذَا فَرَغَتْ مِنْ حَدِيثِهَا قَالَتْ وَيَوْمُ الْوِشَاحِ مِنْ تَعَاجِيبِ رَبِّنَاأَلَا إِنَّهُ مِنْ بَلْدَةِ الْكُفْرِ أَنْجَانِيفَلَمَّا أَكْثَرَتْ قَالَتْ لَهَا عَائِشَةُ وَمَا يَوْمُ الْوِشَاحِ قَالَتْ خَرَجَتْ جُوَيْرِيَةٌ لِبَعْضِ أَهْلِي وَعَلَيْهَا وِشَاحٌ مِنْ أَدَمٍ فَسَقَطَ مِنْهَا فَانْحَطَّتْ عَلَيْهِ الْحُدَيَّا وَهِيَ تَحْسِبُهُ لَحْمًا فَأَخَذَتْهُ فَاتَّهَمُونِي بِهِ فَعَذَّبُونِي حَتَّى بَلَغَ مِنْ أَمْرِي أَنَّهُمْ طَلَبُوا فِي قُبُلِي فَبَيْنَاهُمْ حَوْلِي وَأَنَا فِي كَرْبِي إِذْ أَقْبَلَتْ الْحُدَيَّا حَتَّى وَازَتْ بِرُءُوسِنَا ثُمَّ أَلْقَتْهُ فَأَخَذُوهُ فَقُلْتُ لَهُمْ هَذَا الَّذِي اتَّهَمْتُمُونِي بِهِ وَأَنَا مِنْهُ بَرِيئَةٌ

"Narrated to me by Farwah bin Abu Al-Maghra', from 'Ali bin Mushir, from Hisham, from his father, from 'Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), who said: A black woman who worked for some Arabs embraced Islam. She had a small, cramped house near the mosque. She would come to us and talk. When she finished her story, she would recite: 'The day of the scarf is one of our Lord’s wonders. Indeed, it was in the land of disbelief that Allah saved me.' When she recited this often, 'Aishah asked her, 'What is the day of the scarf?' She said, 'A young girl went out to some of my family carrying a leather scarf. It fell from her, and a bird swooped down, thinking it was meat, and took it. They accused me and tortured me, even searching my private parts. While they were around me, and I was in distress, the bird came, circled above our heads, and dropped it. They took it, and I said to them, 'This is what you accused me of, and I am innocent of it.'
