Sesungguhnya imam dijadikan untuk diikuti, apabila dia rukuk maka rukuklah, bila dia mengangkat kepalanya maka angkatlah kepala
Imam Ahmad : 23116حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي قَالَ أَخْبَرَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ النَّاسُ فِي مَرَضِهِ يَعُودُونَهُ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ جَالِسًا فَجَعَلُوا يُصَلُّونَ قِيَامًا فَأَشَارَ إِلَيْهِمْ أَنْ اجْلِسُوا فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ قَالَ إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ الْإِمَامُ لِيُؤْتَمَّ بِهِ فَإِذَا رَكَعَ فَارْكَعُوا وَإِذَا رَفَعَ فَارْفَعُوا وَإِذَا صَلَّى جَالِسًا فَصَلُّوا جُلُوسًا
Narrated to us [Yahya] from [Hisyam bin 'Urwah] said: Having informed me [my father], he said: It has been reported to me [Aisyah] that when Rasulullah Sallallahu'alaihiwasallam was sick people met him and visited him. Then he prayed with them while sitting while they prayed standing. Then he motioned for them to sit down. After praying, he said: "Indeed, the Imam is appointed to follow, if he bows then you bow, if he raises (his hands) then raise (your hands), and if he prays while sitting then you pray while sitting.
