قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زِيَادٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي جَدَّتِي الرَّبَابُ وَقَالَ يُونُسُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ سَهْلَ بْنَ حُنَيْفٍ يَقُولُ مَرَرْنَا بِسَيْلٍ فَدَخَلْتُ فَاغْتَسَلْتُ مِنْهُ فَخَرَجْتُ مَحْمُومًا فَنُمِيَ ذَلِكَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ مُرُوا أَبَا ثَابِتٍ يَتَعَوَّذُ قُلْتُ يَا سَيِّدِي وَالرُّقَى صَالِحَةٌ قَالَ لَا رُقْيَةَ إِلَّا فِي نَفْسٍ أَوْ حُمَةٍ أَوْ لَدْغَةٍ قَالَ عَفَّانُ النَّظْرَةُ وَاللَّدْغَةُ وَالْحُمَةُ

Narrated to us [Yunus bin Muhammad] and ['Affan] said: Narrated to us [Abdul Wahid] namely Ibn Ziyad, said: Narrated to us ['Uthman bin Hakim] said: has narrated to me [my grandmother, Ar-Rabab] and [Yunus] said: in his hadith, (Ar-Rabab Radliyallahu'anha) said: I heard [Sahal bin Hunaif] say: "We passed a stream of water, then I threw myself in, took a shower. When I came out of the water, I felt a fever. This incident was Narrated to The Messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him. He said: "Tell Abu Thabit to protect himself with prayer", Then I said: "O king, is it permissible to read prayers (ruqyah)? He said: "There is no Ruqyah, except because of the evil eye, the body is affected by poison or stings." 'Affan said: because of evil eyes, stings, or poison.
