Imam Ahmad : 1404

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ هَمَّامٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ بِمَكَّةَ وَهُوَ مَرِيضٌ فَقَالَ إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ لِي إِلَّا ابْنَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ فَأُوصِي بِمَالِي كُلِّهِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا قَالَ فَأُوصِي بِنِصْفِهِ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا قَالَ فَأُوصِي بِثُلُثِهِ قَالَ الثُّلُثُ وَالثُّلُثُ كَبِيرٌ حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَبِي غَلَّابٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ و قَالَ عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ كَثِيرٌ يَعْنِي وَالثُّلُثُ

Narrated to us [Abdurrahman] from [Hammam] from [Qatadah] from [Yunus bin Jubair] from [Muhammad bin Sa'd] from [his father] that the Prophet peace be upon him met him in Mecca, when he was sick. He says; "I don't have any children except one daughter, can I bequeath all my assets?" The Prophet peace be upon him answered; "Don't" Sa'd asked again; "How about half?" The Prophet peace be upon him answered; "Don't" Sa'd asked again; "How about a third?" he answered; "A third. Yes a third, but it's big." [Bahz] has told us [Hammam] has told us [Qatadah] from [Abu Ghallab] from [Muhammad bin Sa'd bin Malik] from [his father], that the Prophet peace be upon him met him.. then mentioned the same hadith as above. And [Abdushshamad] said : "..Many." namely one third.
