Narrated to us [Mahmud bin Ghailan] has told us [Waki'] has told us [Sufyan] from [Abu Ishaq] from [Al Barra` bin 'Azib] he said : "When it came down (the verse) It was not the same between the believers who were sitting (who did not take part in fighting). QS An-Nisa`: 95, 'Amru bin Umm Maktum approached the Prophet sallAllahu 'alahi wasallam - he was a blind man - then said : "O Messenger of Allah, what would you order (instead of fighting) to a blind man like me?" then Allah revealed this verse, then he said: "Give me a board and an inkwell." Abu Isa said that hadith This is Hasan Sahih. 'Amru bin Ummi Maktum is also called Abdullah bin Ummi Maktum, his real name is Abdullah bin Za`idah, while Ummi Maktum is his mother.
