Narrated to us [Ahmad bin Shalih], narrated to us [Ibn Wahb], narrated to us [Mu'awiyah bin Shalih] from ['Amru bin Qais] from ['Asim bin Humaid] from ['Auf bin Malik Al Ashja'i], he said: One night, I prayed with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). He stood, reciting Surah Al Baqarah, pausing at every verse of mercy to supplicate and at every verse of punishment to seek refuge. He bowed as long as he stood, saying in his bowing: ‘Subhaana dhil jabaruuti wal malakuuti wal kibriyaa’i wal ‘adhamati’ (Most Holy, Possessor of might, dominion, grandeur, and greatness). He prostrated as long as he stood, saying the same in his prostration, then stood and recited Ali Imran, then other surahs one by one.
