حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ قَال سَمِعْتُ عَمْرَو بْنَ عَاصِمٍ الثَّقَفِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍيَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مُرْنِي بِشَيْءٍ أَقُولُهُ إِذَا أَصْبَحْتُ وَإِذَا أَمْسَيْتُ قَالَ قُلْ اللَّهُمَّ عَالِمَ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ فَاطِرَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ رَبَّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَمَلِيكَهُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسِي وَمِنْ شَرِّ الشَّيْطَانِ وَشِرْكِهِ قَالَ قُلْهُ إِذَا أَصْبَحْتَ وَإِذَا أَمْسَيْتَ وَإِذَا أَخَذْتَ مَضْجَعَكَقَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ
Narrated to us [Mahmud bin Ghailan], narrated to us [Abu Daud], he said: informed us [Syu'bah] from [Ya'la bin 'Atho`], he said: I heard ['Amru bin 'Ashim Ats Tsaqafi] narrate from [Abu Hurairah radliallahu 'anhu], he said: Abu Bakr said: O Messenger of Allah, command me to say something when in the morning and evening. He said: Say: ALLAAHUMMA 'AALIMAL GHAIBI WASY SYAHAADAH, FAATHIRAS SAMAAWAATI WAL ARDHI, RABBA KULLI SYAI IN WA MALIIKAH, ASYHADU AN LAA ILAAHA ILLAA ANTA, A'UUDZU BIKA MIN SYARRI NAFSII, WA MIN SYARRISY SYAITHAAN WA SYIRKIHI." (O Allah, Knower of the unseen and the seen, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Lord and Sovereign of all things, I bear witness that there is no god worthy of worship except You, I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul and from the evil and shirk of the devil). He said: say that when you are in the morning and evening and when you go to sleep. Abu Isa said: this hadith is hasan sahih."
