حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَلَمَّا رَجَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ فَدَنَا مِنْ الْمَدِينَةِ قَالَ إِنَّ بِالْمَدِينَةِ لَقَوْمًا مَا سِرْتُمْ مِنْ مَسِيرٍ وَلَا قَطَعْتُمْ وَادِيًا إِلَّا كَانُوا مَعَكُمْ فِيهِ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَهُمْ بِالْمَدِينَةِ قَالَ وَهُمْ بِالْمَدِينَةِ حَبَسَهُمْ الْعُذْرُ
Narrated by [Muhammad bin Al Mutsanna], narrated by [Ibnu Abi Adi] from [Humaid] from [Anas bin Malik], who said: When the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, returned from the Tabuk expedition and approached Medina, he said: 'In Medina, there are people who, in every step you took and valley you crossed, were with you.' They asked, 'O Messenger of Allah, while they were in Medina?' He replied, 'Yes, they were in Medina, held back by valid excuses.'
