Narrated to us Ibrahim bin Al-Mundhir, narrated to us Abu Dhamrah, narrated to us Musa bin Uqbah from Nafi,, said: Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them, intended to perform Hajj during the year of the Haruriyyah?s Hajj in the time of Ibn Az-Zubair, may Allah be pleased with them. It was Sa'dto him: There is fighting among the people, and we fear they will prevent you. He said: ?Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have a good example? (Surah Al-Ahzab, 21). I will do as he did. I bear witness to you that I have made Umrah obligatory upon myself. When he reached the outskirts of Al-Baida?, he said: The matter of Hajj and Umrah is one. I bear witness to you that I have combined Hajj with Umrah and brought a marked sacrificial animal that I bought. He performed thawaf around the Ka?bah and sa?i at Safa, and did no more than that, and did not perform tahallul from anything forbidden until the Day of Sacrifice. He shaved his head, slaughtered, and considered that he had completed the thawaf for Hajj and Umrah with his first thawaf. Then he said: This is what the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did.
