حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ وَيَحْيَى بْنُ مُوسَى وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَأَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا جَلَسَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَضَعَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى رُكْبَتِهِ وَرَفَعَ إِصْبَعَهُ الَّتِي تَلِي الْإِبْهَامَ الْيُمْنَى يَدْعُو بِهَا وَيَدُهُ الْيُسْرَى عَلَى رُكْبَتِهِ بَاسِطَهَا عَلَيْهِقَالَ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ وَنُمَيْرٍ الْخُزَاعِيِّ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَأَبِي حُمَيْدٍ وَوَائِلِ بْنِ حُجْرٍ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ ابْنِ عُمَرَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَيْهِ عِنْدَ بَعْضِ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالتَّابِعِينَ يَخْتَارُونَ الْإِشَارَةَ فِي التَّشَهُّدِ وَهُوَ قَوْلُ أَصْحَابِنَا

Narrated to us [Mahmud bin Ghailan] and [Yahya bin Musa] and several others, they said: narrated to us [Abdurrazaq] from [Ma'mar] from [Ubaidullah bin Umar] from [Nafi'] from [Ibnu Umar], he said: "The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, when sitting in prayer, placed his right hand on his knee and raised the finger next to the thumb on the right - meaning the index finger - and supplicated with it. And he placed his left hand on his knee spreading his fingers." He said: "In this chapter there are also narrations from Abudllah Ibnu Az Zubair, Numair Al Khuza'I, Abu Hurairah, Abu Humaid, and Wa`il bin Hujr." Abu Isa said: "The hadith of Ibnu Umar is hasan gharib, we do not know this hadith from Ubaidullah bin Umar except from this chain. Some scholars from the companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and the tabi'in act upon this hadith. They choose to gesture with the index finger during tasyahud. This is the opinion taken by our companions."
