Sehasta demi sehasta hingga mereka manempuh (masuk) ke dalam lobang biawak
Imam Ibnu Majah : 3984حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَتَتَّبِعُنَّ سُنَّةَ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ بَاعًا بِبَاعٍ وَذِرَاعًا بِذِرَاعٍ وَشِبْرًا بِشِبْرٍ حَتَّى لَوْ دَخَلُوا فِي جُحْرِ ضَبٍّ لَدَخَلْتُمْ فِيهِ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ الْيَهُودُ وَالنَّصَارَى قَالَ فَمَنْ إِذًا
Narrated by [Abu Bakar bin Abu Syaibah], narrated by [Yazid bin Harun], from [Muhammad bin 'Amru], from [Abu Salamah], from [Abu Hurairah], he said: Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: 'You will surely follow the ways of those before you, handspan by handspan (ba'an bi ba'), cubit by cubit (dhira'an bi dhira'), and inch by inch (shibran bi shibr), so much so that if they entered a lizard’s hole (juhr dabb), you would follow them.' They asked, 'O Rasulullah, the Jews and Christians?' He replied: 'Who else?'
