حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍأَنَّ قَوْمًا مِنْ عُكْلٍ أَوْ قَالَ مِنْ عُرَيْنَةَ قَدِمُوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاجْتَوَوْا الْمَدِينَةَ فَأَمَرَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِلِقَاحٍ وَأَمَرَهُمْ أَنْ يَشْرَبُوا مِنْ أَبْوَالِهَا وَأَلْبَانِهَا فَانْطَلَقُوا فَلَمَّا صَحُّوا قَتَلُوا رَاعِيَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَاسْتَاقُوا النَّعَمَ فَبَلَغَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَبَرُهُمْ مِنْ أَوَّلِ النَّهَارِ فَأَرْسَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي آثَارِهِمْ فَمَا ارْتَفَعَ النَّهَارُ حَتَّى جِيءَ بِهِمْ فَأَمَرَ بِهِمْ فَقُطِعَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَأَرْجُلُهُمْ وَسُمِرَ أَعْيُنُهُمْ وَأُلْقُوا فِي الْحَرَّةِ يَسْتَسْقُونَ فَلَا يُسْقَوْنَقَالَ أَبُو قِلَابَةَ فَهَؤُلَاءِ قَوْمٌ سَرَقُوا وَقَتَلُوا وَكَفَرُوا بَعْدَ إِيمَانِهِمْ وَحَارَبُوا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَعِيلَ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بِإِسْنَادِهِ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ قَالَ فِيهِ فَأَمَرَ بِمَسَامِيرَ فَأُحْمِيَتْ فَكَحَلَهُمْ وَقَطَّعَ أَيْدِيَهُمْ وَأَرْجُلَهُمْ وَمَا حَسَمَهُمْ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ح و حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ عَنْ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ عَنْ يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ قَالَ فِيهِ فَبَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي طَلَبِهِمْ قَافَةً فَأُتِيَ بِهِمْ قَالَ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى فِي ذَلِكَ{ إِنَّمَا جَزَاءُ الَّذِينَ يُحَارِبُونَ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَيَسْعَوْنَ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَسَادًا }الْآيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَعِيلَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ وَقَتَادَةُ وَحُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ذَكَرَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ قَالَ أَنَسٌ فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ أَحَدَهُمْ يَكْدِمُ الْأَرْضَ بِفِيهِ عَطَشًا حَتَّى مَاتُوا حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ نَحْوَهُ زَادَ ثُمَّ نَهَى عَنْ الْمُثْلَةِ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ مِنْ خِلَافٍ وَرَوَاهُ شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ وَسَلَّامُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ جَمِيعًا عَنْ أَنَسٍ لَمْ يَذْكُرَا مِنْ خِلَافٍ وَلَمْ أَجِدْ فِي حَدِيثِ أَحَدٍ قَطَّعَ أَيْدِيَهُمْ وَأَرْجُلَهُمْ مِنْ خِلَافٍ إِلَّا فِي حَدِيثِ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ

Narrated to us [Sulaiman bin Harb], he said, narrated to us [Hammad] from [Ayyub] from [Abu Qilabah] from [Anas bin Malik], he said, "Some people from 'Ukl, or he said, from Urainah, came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, but they could not adapt to Medina’s climate (and fell ill). The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered a milking camel be provided for them. He instructed them to drink its urine and milk. They went (to the camel pen), but when they recovered, they killed the Prophet’s shepherd, peace and blessings be upon him, and stole the camels. By noon, the news reached the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who sent (men) to track them. Before the sun was high, they were caught and brought to him. He ordered their punishment: their hands and feet were cut off, their eyes were gouged out, and they were left in the desert. They asked for water but were given none." [Abu Qilabah] said, "They stole, killed, apostatized after believing, and fought Allah and His Messenger." Narrated to us [Musa bin Isma'il], he said, narrated to us [Wuhaib] from [Ayyub] with the same chain as the hadith, but he added, "He ordered heated nails to be taken and used to slash them, their hands and feet were cut off, but he did not order their wounds cauterized with hot iron." Narrated to us [Muhammad bin Ash Shabbah bin Sufyan], he said, informed us. (In another chain) Narrated to us [Amru bin Utsman], he said, narrated to us [Al Walid] from [Al Auza'i] from [Yahya] - meaning Yahya bin Abu Katsir - from [Abu Qilabah] from [Anas bin Malik] with the same hadith. He said, "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sent spies to find them, and they were caught. Anas said, 'Allah, Blessed and Exalted, then revealed the verse: '(Indeed, the punishment for those who fight Allah and His Messenger and cause corruption..)' - Al Maidah: 33." Narrated to us [Musa bin Isma'il], he said, narrated to us [Hammad], he said, informed us [Tsabit] and [Qatadah] and [Humaid] from [Anas bin Malik], he then mentioned the hadith. Anas said, "I saw one of them licking the ground with his mouth due to thirst until he died." Narrated to us [Muhammad bin Basysyar], he said, narrated to us [Ibnu Abu Adi] from [Hisyam] from [Qatadah] from [Anas bin Malik] like the hadith, but he added, "then he prohibited mutilation (cutting up corpses)." And he did not mention 'min khilaf' (crosswise). [Syu'bah] also narrated from [Qatadah] and [Salam bin Miskin], from [Tsabit], all from [Anas], but they did not mention 'min khilaf' (cutting hands and feet crosswise). I never found anyone mentioning in the hadith, 'he cut their hands and feet crosswise,' except in the hadith Narrated to usHammad bin Salamah.
