حَدَّثَنَا النُّفَيْلِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ الْأَحْوَلُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عُثْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سَعْدُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ قَالَسَمِعَتْهُ أُذُنَايَ وَوَعَاهُ قَلْبِي مِنْ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ ادَّعَى إِلَى غَيْرِ أَبِيهِ وَهُوَ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُ غَيْرُ أَبِيهِ فَالْجَنَّةُ عَلَيْهِ حَرَامٌقَالَ فَلَقِيتُ أَبَا بَكْرَةَ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ سَمِعَتْهُ أُذُنَايَ وَوَعَاهُ قَلْبِي مِنْ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ عَاصِمٌ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَا عُثْمَانَ لَقَدْ شَهِدَ عِنْدَكَ رَجُلَانِ أَيُّمَا رَجُلَيْنِ فَقَالَ أَمَّا أَحَدُهُمَا فَأَوَّلُ مَنْ رَمَى بِسَهْمٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَوْ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ يَعْنِي سَعْدَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ وَالْآخَرُ قَدِمَ مِنْ الطَّائِفِ فِي بِضْعَةٍ وَعِشْرِينَ رَجُلًا عَلَى أَقْدَامِهِمْ فَذَكَرَ فَضْلًا قَالَ النُّفَيْلِيُّ حَيْثُ حَدَّثَ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ وَاللَّهِ إِنَّهُ عِنْدِي أَحْلَى مِنْ الْعَسَلِ يَعْنِي قَوْلَهُ حَدَّثَنَا وَحَدَّثَنِي قَالَ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ وَسَمِعْتُ أَبَا دَاوُدَ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ أَحْمَدَ يَقُولُ لَيْسَ لِحَدِيثِ أَهْلِ الْكُوفَةِ نُورٌ قَالَ وَمَا رَأَيْتُ مِثْلَ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ كَانُوا تَعَلَّمُوهُ مِنْ شُعْبَةَ

Narrated to us [An Nufaili], he said: narrated to us [Zuhair], he said: narrated to us [Ashim Al Ahwal], he said: narrated to me [Abu Utsman], he said: narrated to me [Sa'd bin Malik], he said: 'My ears heard and my heart absorbed from Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, he said: Whoever attributes himself to other than his father, knowing he is not his father, Paradise is forbidden for him." Sa'd said: 'I then met [Abu Bakrah], and I narrated the hadith to him. He said: "My ears heard and my heart absorbed from Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him." Ashim said: 'I said: "O Abu Utsman, there are two men with you who witnessed it, so who is one of them?" Abu Utsman replied: "One of them is the first to shoot an arrow in the way of Allah—or in Islam—Sa'd bin Malik. The other is a man who came with a group from Taif on foot, numbering more than twenty." Then he mentioned the rest of the hadith.' An Nufaili, when narrating this hadith, said: 'By Allah, the phrases "narrated to us" and "narrated to me" are sweeter to me than honey.' Abu Ali said: 'I heard Abu Dawud say: "I heard Ahmad say: 'There is no light in the hadiths of the people of Kufa.' Ahmad bin Hanbal said: 'I have never seen anyone like the people of Basra (in seeking hadith) they learned it from Syu'bah.'"'"'
