Imam Tirmidzi : 3001حَدَّثَنَا الْأَنْصَارِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنٌ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ ابْنِ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِسُئِلَ عَنْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ{ وَإِذْ أَخَذَ رَبُّكَ مِنْ بَنِي آدَمَ مِنْ ظُهُورِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَأَشْهَدَهُمْ عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ أَلَسْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ قَالُوا بَلَى شَهِدْنَا أَنْ تَقُولُوا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِنَّا كُنَّا عَنْ هَذَا غَافِلِينَ }فَقَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُسْأَلُ عَنْهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَلَقَ آدَمَ ثُمَّ مَسَحَ ظَهْرَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ فَأَخْرَجَ مِنْهُ ذُرِّيَّةً فَقَالَ خَلَقْتُ هَؤُلَاءِ لِلْجَنَّةِ وَبِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ يَعْمَلُونَ ثُمَّ مَسَحَ ظَهْرَهُ فَاسْتَخْرَجَ مِنْهُ ذُرِّيَّةً فَقَالَ خَلَقْتُ هَؤُلَاءِ لِلنَّارِ وَبِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ النَّارِ يَعْمَلُونَ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَفِيمَ الْعَمَلُ قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ إِذَا خَلَقَ الْعَبْدَ لِلْجَنَّةِ اسْتَعْمَلَهُ بِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ حَتَّى يَمُوتَ عَلَى عَمَلٍ مِنْ أَعْمَالِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فَيُدْخِلَهُ اللَّهُ الْجَنَّةَ وَإِذَا خَلَقَ الْعَبْدَ لِلنَّارِ اسْتَعْمَلَهُ بِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ النَّارِ حَتَّى يَمُوتَ عَلَى عَمَلٍ مِنْ أَعْمَالِ أَهْلِ النَّارِ فَيُدْخِلَهُ اللَّهُ النَّارَقَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ وَمُسْلِمُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ مِنْ عُمَرَ وَقَدْ ذَكَرَ بَعْضُهُمْ فِي هَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ بَيْنَ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ وَبَيْنَ عُمَرَ رَجُلًا مَجْهُولًا
Narrated to us [Al Ashari] has told us [Ma'an] has told us [Malik bin Anas] from [Zaid bin Abu Unaisah] from [Abdulhamid bin Abdurrahman bin Zaid bin Al Khathtahab] from [Muslim bin Yasar Al Juhani] that [Umar bin Al Khaththab] was once asked about the verse "And (remember), when your Rabb brought forth the descendants of the children of Adam from their flesh and Allah took testimony against their souls (saying): 'Am I not your Rabb? ' They answered: 'Yes (You are our Rabb), we are witnesses.' (We do this) so that on the Day of Resurrection you will not say: 'Indeed we (the children of Adam) were those who were heedless of this (the oneness of the Rabb)." (Al A'raaf: 172) Umar said: I heard the Messenger of Allahpeace be upon him was asked about it and he answered: "Indeed, Allah created Adam then He rubbed his back with His right hand and brought forth offspring, after that said: 'I created them all to (inhabit) paradise and with the deeds of the people of paradise.' Then He stroked his back, then offspring came out from him, after which He said: 'I created them to (inhabit) hell and with the deeds of the experts in hell'." Then there were people who asked: O Messenger of Allah, then what is the use of doing good deeds? He answered: "Indeed, if Allah creates servants as members of heaven, He will guide them to do good deeds with the people of heaven until they die in such a state and then Allah will enter them into heaven. Meanwhile, if He creates servants as experts in hell, He will guide them to do good deeds with the deeds of members of hell until they die in such conditions and then Allah will put them in hell." Abu Isa said: This hadith is hasan. Muslim ibn Yasar did not hear from Umar. Some of them mentioned someone unknown in this chain of narration between Muslim ibn Yasar and Umar.
