Rasulullah senang memberi nama Abdullah
Imam Muslim : 3995حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ ذَهَبْتُ بِعْبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ وُلِدَ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي عَبَاءَةٍ يَهْنَأُ بَعِيرًا لَهُ فَقَالَ هَلْ مَعَكَ تَمْرٌ فَقُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَنَاوَلْتُهُ تَمَرَاتٍ فَأَلْقَاهُنَّ فِي فِيهِ فَلَاكَهُنَّ ثُمَّ فَغَرَ فَا الصَّبِيِّ فَمَجَّهُ فِي فِيهِ فَجَعَلَ الصَّبِيُّ يَتَلَمَّظُهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حُبُّ الْأَنْصَارِ التَّمْرَ وَسَمَّاهُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ
Narrated to us Abdul A'la bin Hammad Narrated to us Hammad bin Salamah from Tsabit Al Bunani from Anas bin Malik he said "I went with Abdullah bin Abu Thalhah al Anshari to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, when he was newly born. I came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, while he was in the camel pen giving water to his camel. Then (the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him) asked me 'Do you have dates?' I answered Yes. He then took some dates and put them in his mouth and softened them. After that, he opened the baby's mouth and fed it to him, and the baby began to lick it. So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'The love of the Ansar is for dates.' Then (the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him) named him Abdullah.
