Sebaik-baik kalian adalah yang hidup pada zamanku (generasiku) kemudian orang-orang yang datang setelah mereka kemudian orang-orang yang datang setelah mereka
Imam Abu Dawud : 4038حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا ح و حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَيْرُ أُمَّتِي الْقَرْنُ الَّذِينَ بُعِثْتُ فِيهِمْ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ أَذَكَرَ الثَّالِثَ أَمْ لَا ثُمَّ يَظْهَرُ قَوْمٌ يَشْهَدُونَ وَلَا يُسْتَشْهَدُونَ وَيَنْذِرُونَ وَلَا يُوفُونَ وَيَخُونُونَ وَلَا يُؤْتَمَنُونَ وَيَفْشُو فِيهِمْ السِّمَنُ
Narrated to us [Amru bin Aun], he said: Informed us. (In another chain mentioned) [Musaddad], he said: Narrated to us [Abu Awanah] from [Qatadah] from [Zurarah bin Aufa] from [Imran bin Hushain], he said: The Messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him said: 'The best generation is my generation when I was sent among them, then the generation after them, then the generation after them -The narrator said: 'Only Allah knows if he mentioned the third or not'-. After that, people will appear who testify without being asked, promise but do not fulfill, they like betrayal, are not trustworthy, and obesity spreads among them.'
