حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي سُرَيْجٍ الرَّازِيُّ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ابْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا تَكَلَّمَ اللَّهُ بِالْوَحْيِ سَمِعَ أَهْلُ السَّمَاءِ لِلسَّمَاءِ صَلْصَلَةً كَجَرِّ السِّلْسِلَةِ عَلَى الصَّفَا فَيُصْعَقُونَ فَلَا يَزَالُونَ كَذَلِكَ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَهُمْ جِبْرِيلُ حَتَّى إِذَا جَاءَهُمْ جِبْرِيلُ فُزِّعَ عَنْ قُلُوبِهِمْ قَالَ فَيَقُولُونَ يَا جِبْرِيلُ مَاذَا قَالَ رَبُّكَ فَيَقُولُ الْحَقَّ فَيَقُولُونَ الْحَقَّ الْحَقَّ
Narrated to us Ahmad bin Abu Suraij Ar Razi and Ali Ibnul Husain bin Ibrahim and Ali bin Muslim they said narrated to us Abu Mu'awiyah said, narrated to us Al A'masy from Muslim from Masruq from Abdullah he said, The Messenger of Allah peace be upon him said: When Allah conveys revelation, the inhabitants of the heavens hear a rattling like a chain clashing until they faint. And they remain in that state until Jibril comes, then when Jibril comes they regain consciousness. He said: Then they say, O Jibril, what did your Lord say? Jibril answers, The truth. They then say again, The truth, the truth.
