Narrated to us [Muhammad bin Yahya], narrated to us [Ya'qub bin Ibrahim bin Sa'd], narrated to us ['Abidah bin Abu Ra`ithah] from [Abdurrahman bin Ziyad] from [Abdullah bin Mughaffal], he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'Fear Allah, fear Allah regarding the rights of my companions. Do not make them targets (of slander and criticism) after me. Whoever loves them, I love them with my love, and whoever hates them, I hate them with my hatred. Whoever harms them has harmed me, whoever harms me has harmed Allah, and whoever harms Allah, Allah will soon punish him.' Abu Isa said: 'This hadith is a hasan gharib hadith, we only know it through this chain.'
