Narrated to us [Muhammad Basyar], narrated to us [Yahya bin Sa'id] and [Abdurrahman bin Mahdi], they said: narrated to us [Sufyan] from [Bukair bin 'Atha`] from [Abdurrahman bin Ya'mar] that some people from Najd met The Messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him while he was in Arafah. They asked about Hajj, so he ordered a caller to proclaim: 'Hajj is Arafah. Whoever arrives on the night of Arafah before dawn has attained Hajj. The days of Mina are three. Whoever hastens to leave on the second day incurs no sin. Whoever delays to the third day incurs no sin.' (Muhammad bin Basyar) said: 'Yahya added: ''He carried a man behind him while proclaiming.'' Narrated to us [Ibnu Abu 'Umar], narrated to us [Sufyan bin 'Uyainah] from [Sufyan Ats Tsauri] from [Bukair bin Atha'] from [Abdurrahman bin Ya'mar] from the Prophet peace and blessings be upon him like the above in meaning. Ibnu Abu Umar said: Sufyan bin Uyainah said: 'This is the best hadith narrated by Sufyan Ats Tsauri.' Abu 'Isa said: 'Scholars among the Companions and others practice the hadith of Abdurrahman bin Ya'mar: whoever does not stand in Arafah before dawn misses Hajj. Even if he stands after dawn, it becomes Umrah, and he must make up Hajj next year. This is the view of Ats Tsauri, Syafi'i, Ishaq, and Ahmad.' Abu 'Isa said: '[Syu'bah] narrated from [Bukair bin Atha'] like Ats Tsauri's hadith. He said: I heard Al Jarud say: I heard Waki' mention this hadith and say: ''This hadith is the foundation of Hajj rites.''"
