Imam Abu Dawud : 4163حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ إِسْحَقَ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ قَالَكُنَّا مَعَ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ وَثَمَّ بُشَيْرُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ فَحَدَّثَ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْحَيَاءُ خَيْرٌ كُلُّهُ أَوْ قَالَ الْحَيَاءُ كُلُّهُ خَيْرٌ فَقَالَ بُشَيْرُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ إِنَّا نَجِدُ فِي بَعْضِ الْكُتُبِ أَنَّ مِنْهُ سَكِينَةً وَوَقَارًا وَمِنْهُ ضَعْفًا فَأَعَادَ عِمْرَانُ الْحَدِيثَ وَأَعَادَ بُشَيْرٌ الْكَلَامَ قَالَ فَغَضِبَ عِمْرَانُ حَتَّى احْمَرَّتْ عَيْنَاهُ وَقَالَ أَلَا أُرَانِي أُحَدِّثُكَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَتُحَدِّثُنِي عَنْ كُتُبِكَ قَالَ قُلْنَا يَا أَبَا نُجَيْدٍ إِيهٍ إِيهِ
Narrated to us [Sulaiman bin Harb] said, narrated to us [Hammad] from [Ishaq bin Suwaid] from [Abu Qatadah] he said, 'I was with [Imran bin Husain] and [Bushair bin Ka'b], then Imran bin Husain narrated. He said, 'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Shyness is all good.' Or he said: 'Shyness is entirely good.'' Bushair bin Ka'b then said, 'We find in some books that shyness brings tranquility, dignity and weakness!' Imran repeated the hadith he conveyed, while Bushair also repeated his words.' The narrator said, 'Imran then got angry until his eyes turned red. Then he said, 'Don't you know that I am conveying a hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), but why do you convey what is in your book!' Abu Qatadah said, 'We then said, 'O Abu Nujaid! don't do that, don't do that.''
