Narrated to us [Hafsh bin Umar], narrated to us [Syu'bah] from ['Amr bin Murrah], from [Abdullah bin Al Harits] from [Abu Katsir] from [Abdullah bin 'Amr], he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, preached, saying: 'Avoid stinginess, for it destroyed those before you. They were ordered to be stingy, so they were stingy they were ordered to sever kinship ties, so they severed them and they were ordered to commit sins, so they committed sins.'
