حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مَوْهَبٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَإِنَّمَا تَغَيَّبَ عُثْمَانُ عَنْ بَدْرٍ فَإِنَّهُ كَانَتْ تَحْتَهُ بِنْتُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَكَانَتْ مَرِيضَةً فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ لَكَ أَجْرَ رَجُلٍ مِمَّنْ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا وَسَهْمَهُ
Narrated to us [Musa] narrated to us [Abu 'Awanah] narrated to us ['Uthman bin Mawhab] from [Ibnu 'Umar], may Allah be pleased with them, said: 'The reason 'Uthman did not join the Battle of Badr was that he was caring for the daughter of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, who was ill. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, Sa'dto him: "You receive the reward and share of one who participated in Badr."'
