Najasyi bersaksi bahwa Muhammad adalah Rasulullah, dialah orang yang kami dapatkan ciri-cirinya dalam Injil yang diberitakan Isa bin Maryam
Imam Ahmad : 4168حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ سَمِعْتُ حُدَيْجًا أَخَا زُهَيْرِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ عَنْ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ بَعَثَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى النَّجَاشِيِّ وَنَحْنُ نَحْوٌ مِنْ ثَمَانِينَ رَجُلًا فِيهِمْ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ وَجَعْفَرٌ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُرْفُطَةَ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ مَظْعُونٍ وَأَبُو مُوسَى فَأَتَوْا النَّجَاشِيَّ وَبَعَثَتْ قُرَيْشٌ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْعَاصِ وَعُمَارَةَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ بِهَدِيَّةٍ فَلَمَّا دَخَلَا عَلَى النَّجَاشِيِّ سَجَدَا لَهُ ثُمَّ ابْتَدَرَاهُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَا لَهُ إِنَّ نَفَرًا مِنْ بَنِي عَمِّنَا نَزَلُوا أَرْضَكَ وَرَغِبُوا عَنَّا وَعَنْ مِلَّتِنَا قَالَ فَأَيْنَ هُمْ قَالَ هُمْ فِي أَرْضِكَ فَابْعَثْ إِلَيْهِمْ فَبَعَثَ إِلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ جَعْفَرٌ أَنَا خَطِيبُكُمْ الْيَوْمَ فَاتَّبَعُوهُ فَسَلَّمَ وَلَمْ يَسْجُدْ فَقَالُوا لَهُ مَا لَكَ لَا تَسْجُدُ لِلْمَلِكِ قَالَ إِنَّا لَا نَسْجُدُ إِلَّا لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَالَ وَمَا ذَاكَ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بَعَثَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولَهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَمَرَنَا أَنْ لَا نَسْجُدَ لِأَحَدٍ إِلَّا لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَأَمَرَنَا بِالصَّلَاةِ وَالزَّكَاةِ قَالَ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ فَإِنَّهُمْ يُخَالِفُونَكَ فِي عِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ قَالَ مَا تَقُولُونَ فِي عِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ وَأُمِّهِ قَالُوا نَقُولُ كَمَا قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ هُوَ كَلِمَةُ اللَّهِ وَرُوحُهُ أَلْقَاهَا إِلَى الْعَذْرَاءِ الْبَتُولِ الَّتِي لَمْ يَمَسَّهَا بَشَرٌ وَلَمْ يَفْرِضْهَا وَلَدٌ قَالَ فَرَفَعَ عُودًا مِنْ الْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا مَعْشَرَ الْحَبَشَةِ وَالْقِسِّيسِينَ وَالرُّهْبَانِ وَاللَّهِ مَا يَزِيدُونَ عَلَى الَّذِي نَقُولُ فِيهِ مَا يَسْوَى هَذَا مَرْحَبًا بِكُمْ وَبِمَنْ جِئْتُمْ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّهُ الَّذِي نَجِدُ فِي الْإِنْجِيلِ وَإِنَّهُ الرَّسُولُ الَّذِي بَشَّرَ بِهِ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ انْزِلُوا حَيْثُ شِئْتُمْ وَاللَّهِ لَوْلَا مَا أَنَا فِيهِ مِنْ الْمُلْكِ لَأَتَيْتُهُ حَتَّى أَكُونَ أَنَا أَحْمِلُ نَعْلَيْهِ وَأُوَضِّئُهُ وَأَمَرَ بِهَدِيَّةِ الْآخَرِينَ فَرُدَّتْ إِلَيْهِمَا ثُمَّ تَعَجَّلَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ حَتَّى أَدْرَكَ بَدْرًا وَزَعَمَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُ حِينَ بَلَغَهُ مَوْتُهُ
Narrated to us [Hasan bin Musa] he said: I heard [Hudaij] brother Zuhair bin Mu'awiyah from [Abu Ishaq] from [Abdullah bin Utbah] from [Ibn Mas'ud] he said, "Rasulullah peace and blessings be upon him sent us to Najasyi, at that time there were about eighty of us, among them were Abdullah bin Mas'ud, Ja'far, Abdullah bin Urfuthah, Uthman bin Mazh'un and Abu Musa, they came Najasyi. Meanwhile the Quraysh sent Amru bin 'Ash and Umarah bin Walid with gifts. When they came to Najasyi, they bowed down before him and then stood on his right and left. After that they said, "They are all in your country, send them away." facing." Najasyi then called they. Ja'far said, "I will be your spokesperson today." The companions then followed him, then they entered and greeted him without prostrating (as did the Quraysh messengers). The people asked him, "Why don't you bow down to the king?" Ja'far answered, "We do not bow down except to Allah The Mighty and Majestic." Najasyi asked, "Explain why that is!" Ja'far said, "Indeed Allah The Mighty and Majestic sent us His Messenger sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam and ordered us not to prostrate except only to Allah, ordered us to pray and pay zakat." Amru bin 'Ash said, "Indeed, they are arguing with you regarding Isa bin Maryam!" Najasyi asked, "What do you think about Isa bin Maryam and his mother?" The companions answered, "We say as Allah Ta'ala says, he is the word of Allah and His spirit, He put it in the womb of a virgin and diligently worshiping woman (Maryam) who was never touched by male, and never had children." Ibn Mas'ud continued, "Then Najasyi took a piece of wood from the ground and said, "O people of Habasyah and the priests! By Allah, they do not add anything to what we say (believe about Jesus). Welcome to you and to the people who come with you, I testify that he is the Messenger of Allah, he is the person whose characteristics we find in the Bible and he is the apostle preached by Isa bin Maryam. "You stay as you like, by Allah, if it weren't for royal matters, I would have gone to him until I would have taken his two sandals and given him ablution water. Najasyi then ordered him to return the gift from Quraish." After that Abdullah bin Mas'ud immediately returned to Medina so that he could take part in the battle of Badr.
