Narrated to us Muhammad bin Sinan, narrated to us Fulaih, narrated to us Hilal from Ata bin Yasar, he said: I met Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-As (may Allah be pleased with them) and Sa'd 'Tell me about the description of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) in the Torah.' He Sa'd 'Yes, by Allah, he is described in the Torah with some of his attributes in the Quran: "O Prophet, We have sent you as a witness, a bringer of good news, and a warner," and a protector of the illiterate. You are My servant and My messenger; I have named you Al-Mutawakkil (the one who relies on Allah). He is not harsh or rough, nor one who shouts in the markets, nor does he repay evil with evil but forgives and pardons. Allah will not take him until he straightens the crooked religion by making them say, "There is no god but Allah," and opens blind eyes, deaf ears, and sealed hearts.' Abdul Aziz bin Abu Salamah followed up from Hilal, and Sa'id Sa'dfrom Hilal from Ata from Ibn Salam: 'Ghulf means covered; everything in a cover, like a sheathed sword, a covered bow, or an uncircumcised man.'
