حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ وَأَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ أَنَّ الضَّحَّاكَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْقُرَشِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ صَلَّى سُبْحَةَ الضُّحَى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ إِنِّي صَلَّيْتُ صَلَاةَ رَغْبَةٍ وَرَهْبَةٍ سَأَلْتُ رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ثَلَاثًا فَأَعْطَانِي ثِنْتَيْنِ وَمَنَعَنِي وَاحِدَةً سَأَلْتُ أَنْ لَا يَبْتَلِيَ أُمَّتِي بِالسِّنِينَ فَفَعَلَ وَسَأَلْتُ أَنْ لَا يُظْهِرَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَدُوَّهُمْ فَفَعَلَ وَسَأَلْتُهُ أَنْ لَا يَلْبِسَهُمْ شِيَعًا فَأَبَى عَلَيَّ
Narrated to us [Harun bin Ma'ruf] Narrated to us [Abdullah bin Wahab] said, and has narrated to me [Amru bin Al-Harits] from [Bukair bin Al-Asyaj] that [Adh Dhohak bin Abdullah Al-Qurasyi] told it from [Anas bin Malik] Radhiyallahu'anhu said: I saw The Messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him performing the first sunnah prayer of eight rak'ahs when journey, and when it was finished He peace and blessings be upon him said: "I prayed with feelings of joy and fear, I asked my Lord for three things, but He only gave me two and kept one, I asked Him not to test my servant with a long drought and He granted, and I asked Him so that the enemy would not win over my people and He granted, and I asked Him not to make them divided but He was reluctant to grant.
