Narrated to us [Ali bin Hujr], he said: informed us [Isa bin Yunus] from [Ibnu Abu Dzi`b] from [Ishaq bin Yazid Al Hudzali] from [Aun bin Abdullah bin Utbah] from [Ibnu Mas'ud] that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If one of you bows and says in his bowing: SUBHAANA RABBIAL AZHIIM (Glory to my Lord the Most Great) three times, his bowing is perfect. And that is the minimum. Then when prostrating says: SUBHAANA RABBIAL A'LA (Glory to my Lord the Most High) three times, his prostration is perfect. And that is the minimum." He said: "In this chapter there are also hadiths from Hudzaifah and Uqbah bin Amir." Abu Isa said: "The hadith of Ibnu Mas'ud's sanad is not connected, because Aun bin Abdullah bin Utbah did not meet Ibnu Mas'ud. This hadith is acted upon by scholars, that they like one not to reduce the tasbih in bowing and prostration. And it is narrated from Abdullah bin Al Mubarak, he said: 'I prefer the imam to say tasbih five times so that those behind him can say tasbih three times. Ishaq bin Ibrahim also holds this.'"
