Imam Tirmidzi : 64حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ عَنْ مَالِكٍ ح و حَدَّثَنَا الْأَنْصَارِيُّ إِسْحَقُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنٌ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ مِنْ آلِ ابْنِ الْأَزْرَقِ أَنَّ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ وَهُوَ مِنْ بَنِي عَبْدِ الدَّارِ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُسَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا نَرْكَبُ الْبَحْرَ وَنَحْمِلُ مَعَنَا الْقَلِيلَ مِنْ الْمَاءِ فَإِنْ تَوَضَّأْنَا بِهِ عَطِشْنَا أَفَنَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ مَاءِ الْبَحْرِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هُوَ الطَّهُورُ مَاؤُهُ الْحِلُّ مَيْتَتُهُقَالَ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ جَابِرٍ وَالْفِرَاسِيِّ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَهُوَ قَوْلُ أَكْثَرِ الْفُقَهَاءِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْهُمْ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ وَابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ لَمْ يَرَوْا بَأْسًا بِمَاءِ الْبَحْرِ وَقَدْ كَرِهَ بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْوُضُوءَ بِمَاءِ الْبَحْرِ مِنْهُمْ ابْنُ عُمَرَ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو وَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو هُوَ نَارٌ
Narrated to us [Qutaibah] from [Malik]. From another chain: narrated to us [Al-Ansari Ishaq bin Musa], he said: narrated to us [Ma‘n], he said: narrated to us [Malik] from [Shafwan bin Sulaym] from [Sa‘id bin Salamah] of the family of Ibn Al-Azraq, that [Al-Mughirah bin Abi Burdah] of Banu ‘Abd Ad-Dar informed him that he heard [Abu Hurairah] say: A man asked the Prophet, may Allah’s peace be upon him: "O Messenger of Allah, we sail the sea carrying little water: if we use it for wudu we will thirst. May we perform wudu with seawater?" The Messenger of Allah replied: "Its water is pure and its dead is lawful." In this chapter there are narrations from Jabir and Al-Firasi. Abu Isa said: "This hadith is hasan sahih, followed by most fuqaha among the Companions: Abu Bakr, ‘Umar, and Ibn ‘Abbas permitted purification with seawater. Some Companions disliked it: Ibn ‘Umar and ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr. ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr said: ‘It is fire.’"
