Narrated to us ['Abdullah bin Maslamah Al Qo'nabiy], narrated to us ['Abdul 'Aziz bin Abi Hazim] from [his father] from [Sahal bin Sa'ad, may Allah be pleased with him], who heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say during the Battle of Khaibar: 'I will give this banner to a man through whose hands Allah will grant victory.' They stood, each hoping to be chosen. The next morning, all hoped to be given it. He said: 'Where is 'Ali?' It was said: 'He is suffering from eye pain.' He ordered him to be called. When he came, he spat in his eyes, and they healed instantly, as if there had been no pain. He said: 'We will fight them until they become like us (Muslims).' He continued: 'Proceed calmly until you reach their place, then invite them to Islam and inform them of their obligations. By Allah, if one person is guided through you, it is better for you than the finest red camels.'
