Sesungguhnya imam dijadikan untuk diikuti, apabila dia rukuk maka rukuklah, bila dia mengangkat kepalanya maka angkatlah kepala
Imam Ahmad : 24439حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ أَخْبَرَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ النَّاسُ فِي مَرَضِهِ يَعُودُونَهُ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ جَالِسًا فَجَعَلُوا يُصَلُّونَ قِيَامًا فَأَشَارَ إِلَيْهِمْ أَنْ اجْلِسُوا فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ قَالَ إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ الْإِمَامُ لِيُؤْتَمَّ بِهِ فَإِذَا رَكَعَ فَارْكَعُوا وَإِذَا رَفَعَ فَارْفَعُوا وَإِنْ صَلَّى جَالِسًا فَصَلُّوا جُلُوسًا
Narrated to us [Yahya] from [Hisyam bin Urwah] he said: has told me [my father] he said: has informed me [Aisyah] that the Messenger of Allah sallaallahu 'alaihi wa sallam once met people when he was sick, when they visited him. Then he prayed with them in a sitting position, while they prayed standing. Then he motioned to them to sit down. After finishing the prayer, he said: "Indeed he was made an imam to follow, if he bows then bow, if he rises then rise, and if he prays sitting then you should pray sitting.
