Mandi janabat, mulai dengan mencuci kedua telapak tangan, berwudhu kemudian menyiramkan air ke atas kepalanya sebanyak tiga kali, kemudian mengalirkan air ke seluruh kulitnya
Imam Ahmad : 14522حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا اغْتَسَلَ مِنْ جَنَابَةٍ يَصُبُّ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ ثَلَاثَ حَفَنَاتٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ إِنَّ شَعْرِي كَثِيرٌ قَالَ يَا ابْنَ أَخِي كَانَ شَعَرُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ شَعْرِكَ وَأَطْيَبَ
Narrated to us [Abdul Wahhab Ats-Tsaqofi] from [Ja'far] from [his father] from [Jabir] said: When the Prophet peace and blessings be upon him wanted to bathe from his junub condition, he poured three scoops on his head with both hands. Hasan bin Muhammad said to him 'Duhh, my hair is very thick.' (Jabir bin Abdullah radliyallahu'anhuma) said: 'O my brother's son, the hair of The Messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him is thicker and better than yours.'
