"Ishaq narrated to us, Habban narrated to us, Daud bin Abu Al Furat narrated to us, Abdullah bin Buraidah narrated from Yahya bin Ya'mar from Aisyah, the Prophet’s wife, peace be upon him, who said: She asked the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, about the plague. He informed her: It was a punishment sent by Allah on whom He willed, but Allah made it a mercy for believers. No servant in a plague-stricken land stays patiently, knowing nothing will afflict him except what Allah has decreed, but he will have the reward of a martyr. This was supported by An Nadlr’s narration from Daud.
