أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا دُعِيَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى وَلِيمَةٍ فَلْيُجِبْ قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد يَنْبَغِي أَنْ يُجِيبَ وَلَيْسَ الْأَكْلُ عَلَيْهِ بِوَاجِبٍ
Narrated to us [Abdullah bin Sa'id] Narrated to us ['Uqbah bin Khalid] from ['Ubaidullah] from [Nafi'] from [Ibn Umar], he said:The Prophet Peace be upon him said: "If one of you is invited to a party (wedding), he should fulfill the invitation." Abu Muhammad said:"He should fulfill the invitation, while eating is not something that is obligatory.
