أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلٌ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ حَدَّثَنِي جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ عَمْرَو بْنَ أُمَيَّةَ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَحْتَزُّ مِنْ كَتِفِ شَاةٍ فِي يَدِهِ ثُمَّ دُعِيَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَأَلْقَى السِّكِّينَ الَّتِي كَانَ يَحْتَزُّ بِهَا ثُمَّ قَامَ فَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ
Narrated to us [Abdullah bin Salih] he said: Narrated to me [Al Laits] Narrated to me ['Uqail] from [Ibn Shihab] Narrated to me [Ja'far bin 'Amr bin `Umayyah], that his father - ['Amr bin `Umayyah] - once saw The messenger of Allah Peace be upon him cutting goat meat into small pieces in his hand, then there was a call to prayer, so he put down the knife he was using to cut it. the goat, then he stood up and prayed, without performing ablution (again).
